Showgirl Story Time: Jubilee Disco Number

It’s Showgirl Story Time!! I love sharing my experiences being a dancer in Donn Arden’s Jubilee! Today’s Showgirl Story Time is about the Jubilee Disco Number. It was my favorite number in Jubilee!

As with most of Donn Arden’s MGM spectaculars, the music was a medley of songs that were from famous MGM Hollywood musicals. All of the songs were newly arranged to be current with music trends, and this number just happened to have a very strong touch of disco, even though we were dancing and parading to There’s no business like showbusiness!

The costumes, designed by Pete Menefee, were incredible to wear and see moving around onstage. The choreography, by Rich Rizzo, was my favorite choreography to perform out of all the numbers in the show too! It was sexy and fierce. Add all of the feathers and rhinestones on gorgeous glamazons and you have one hell of an opening finale number!!

Watch the video to see some of the costumes I got to wear in the Jubilee disco number and find out which were my favorites!

Enjoy!

XOXO!
